This week is finals week for me. I'm on a study break right now. turns out that it is harder than I thought it would be to write 10 pages in 2 days. Oh well. but after this week I'll only be working 40hrs a week so that will actually be easier than going to school. Hopefully then we can get going on our sleds.

We took the rear skid out last weekend. Polaris doesn't skimp on loctite, thats for sure. We set it side by side with the xtra-10 we have and noticed that they aren't much different at all. The newer one just lacks the adjustability of the xtra-10. Still trying to decide what skid to run. We like how the newer stuff is beefed up but the xtra-10 is a proven skid. We also recruited jeff to be our accountant. We tried to settle the finances from the year and realized we need to get our act together. Jeff is going to lay down the law so we don't have this same issue next season. I keep getting more and more pumped up about next season and its hardly even summer yet. Hopefully I can get everyone to start working out over the summer now that Jeff has a bunch of free weights. The Pros don't slack off in the last 100 laps so I don't plan on doing it either. We made a name for ourselves last year and plan on continuing in that direction.

The sled is tore down and we are now getting parts for it. We picked up an xtra 10 suspension, HTG twin pipes, and a full set of brand new walker evans shocks. Once school is out I hope to get alot more done on both sleds. we can't forget about our old faithful Gen II

This past weekend was MIRAs banquet in West Branch. The whole team went. We got 4-2nds and 3-3rds. Then to top off the excitment Roger Britt, the flagman and respected member of the racing community, selected our team to be the recipients of the 2008 MIRA Hard Charger Award. This award is for the team that never gave up and was the standout team of the year. It was a real honor. So we walked away with 8 CRYSTAL trophies. Then to add to the excitment, we recieved alot of press in the highlight video put together for the season including our picture on the DVD case and being mentioned in the same sentence as the pro enduro champs as "the ones who controlled the enduro action."

We got the sled on saturday from Mt. Pleasant. We got 14 inches of snow the day before and we were all itching to ride it but we all held off settled for firing it up in the shop This sled will see nothing but ice for its entire life. We got Mike's D&D F8 out instead. After doing some landscaping with the sled we started tearing down the IQ. About 3 hours later all that was left was the chassis, motor, and rear skid. We are raking our brains trying to figure our how we want to make the front suspension. We have lots of theories but nothing to go off of yet. Found some sweet deals on ebay too, for some parts that we are going to need.

LMB SpeedShop has now added a 2007 Polaris IQ HO 600 CFI to the arsenal of race sleds. We bought it brand new and are picking it up next weekend. The only miles that this sled will ever see will be on an oval track. People say that the new bump jumper style sleds can't turn, well we are going to try to prove them wrong.
We really just needed something to do all summer. :)

I sold my trail sled this week. A Soo I-500 sled is on the back burner right now so we are seeing where our finances are at. We got all new aluminum radius rods for the front end. Pulled the motor and tightned all steering components, new hyfax, new chaincase seals. Sleds ready for whatever the track dishes out. Carbide is sharpened up and we are planning on returning to our winning ways at our favorite track, Lincoln. Tom Spomer is with us again for the Michigan Cat 500 on Sunday. Hopefully it doesn't get too warm and make it a mud race.

We qualified 5th. The lake ice softened up alittle bit and we liked what we had. On lap 30 or so we broke a radius rod though and went 40 laps down fixing it. We got back out and made up some lost time. We were running the same pace as 1st and 2nd with out losing any time. We were making laps back on the rest of the field but we were just too far behind to salvage a top 5. We ended up 8th. Again not what we were hoping for. Maybe its time for some new iron?

We had a tough time at Drummond. We struggled with setup for most of the day. Couldn't get any bite on the hard lake ice. Never got a holeshot and finished between 3rd and 6th for the most part. Still pretty good, but not as good as we know we can do. By the end of the day we had the setups alittle closer to what we wanted. I qualified 2nd for the 50 lapper and Kev qualified 5th. I jumped out front right away and led everylap of the race, but almost not the last one. Kev was running pretty good in 4th but thought he heard something break in the rear skid so he pulled off the track.

We got the sleds all buttoned up last night after a pretty crazy week. Both sleds had some major modifications to the rear skids not to mention rebuilding the motor completely. But everything is done and getting loaded up tonight into the trailer. Hoping for another successful weekend.

This weeked is our rebuild weekend before our next race at drummond island. Me and Mike got both motors buttoned back up after our tear down in tech. Everything was looking pretty good until we dropped our rear skids. Mike's sled had some excessive wear on his track drive lugs because of the bogie wheels pushing on them. The other sled had some extensive damage to the rear portion of the rails where the bogie wheels go through the window. The tension blocks moved around during the race and pretty much ruined the windows in the rails. Mike is going to be busy machining new parts for both sleds this week. We have to replace a fair amount of studs too. We should be ready by thursday though. Hopefully.
